How to run it
- 1
Wing with the ball; post on the block; defender fronts the post.
- 2
Read the denial: if fronted, feed the high lob over the top.
- 3
If 3/4 denial, feed a bounce pass to the baseline side.
- 4
8 reps each entry type, then switch.
Coaching points
- Feed away from the defender — the open side, not the body.
- A front means a lob; a 3/4 means a baseline-side bounce.
- The post must seal and show a target hand.

- Post player
- Defender
Why it works
Post entry is a lost art. The nugget: the front-vs-denial read determines the pass type, and mastering it unlocks interior offense that perimeter-only teams can't generate. In a game, a fronted post is open behind the defender — a lob is an automatic layup. A kid who can read and feed the post gets easy baskets inside that the defense can't stop without leaving the perimeter open.
