How to run it

  1. 1

Place a chair at each of 7 spots beyond the arc (corners, wings, top, two elbows-extended).

  2. 2

Sprint to the chair, sit into it, pop up, catch, and shoot — 3 makes per spot.

  3. 3

After the circuit, do 7 pull-up 3s off one dribble, one from each spot.

  4. 4

    Track total makes; target 20/28.

Coaching points

  • Sit into the chair to load the legs — power from the hips.
  • Hop into the catch or 1-2 step — be consistent every time.
  • Release before the defense can recover; speed is the point.

Equipment

  • Basketball
  • Rim
  • Rebounder
  • Chair

Why it works

The chair pre-loads the legs and forces a quick rise, simulating the catch-shoot rhythm of a real game. The nugget: NBA-range reps extend the green light for elite shooters — the more range you have, the more of the floor is a threat. In a game, a shooter who can hit from NBA range can't be sagged off, which opens driving lanes for the whole team. Range is space, and space is offense.
