Why it works
The crossover is the first move every ball-handler learns, and young kids do it too high. The nugget: a crossover above the waist is a steal waiting to happen; below the knees it's nearly un-stealable. Teaching it low and wide from the start builds the habit that protects the ball for life. In a game, a low, quick crossover is how you change direction and beat a defender in front of you.
