Why it works
The 30-second clock turns layup practice into a fun race, which keeps young kids' reps high. The nugget: game layups happen fast and under pressure, and a kid who has only practiced slowly will rush and miss when it counts. The clock trains the speed and confidence that game layups require — and chasing a higher number each week builds the competitive fire that shows up in real games.
