How to run it

  1. 1

Defender picks up at the top of the key.

  2. 2

Execute a 3-move combo: hesi → crossover → between-the-legs, then explode to the rim.

  3. 3

Rotate combos each rep: behind-back→hesi→drive, in-and-out→cross→pull-up.

  4. 4

10 reps; defender goes 75% to contest.

Coaching points

  • Each move sets up the next — sell the first to make the second work.
  • Keep the ball on a string — low, tight, and continuous.
  • Explode out of the final move into a game-speed finish.

Equipment

  • Basketball
  • Defender

Why it works

Single moves get scouted; combos break defenders' anticipation. The nugget: chaining moves trains the rhythm and setup-to-counter logic that creates separation against elite on-ball defense. In a game, a defender who stops your first move gets beat by your second — a kid with combo handles always has a counter. This is how great scorers create space against defenders who've scouted their go-to move.
